Overview

Khurram is a US-qualified litigator and experienced international arbitration lawyer based in the United Arab Emirates. He has more than a decade of experience at major international firms, including Baker Botts, KWM, and Addleshaw Goddard. Khurram has significant experience handling M&A and finance disputes, construction and infrastructure disputes, technology disputes and disputes concerning trade and manufacturing. His Middle East experience includes practicing in Dubai and Riyadh.

His experience as arbitration counsel includes ad-hoc and institutional proceedings under LCIA, ICC, DIAC, DIFC-LCIA, SCCA, SIAC, HKIAC, ICDR, AAA, SCAI, and UNCITRAL Rules. He also takes appointments as an arbitrator.

  • Represented energy companies in London seated ICC Arbitration proceedings involving oil and gas assets in Pakistan. Mr. Khan acted as lead counsel and obtained for his clients favorable awards, including full relief sought and dismissal of counterclaims valued at nearly $500 million.
  • Sole Arbitrator on an ICC Rules arbitration involving Oman governing law.
  • Acted successfully for an Iraqi facilities management company in DIAC Arbitration proceedings against a major European energy company.
